An exhibition of contemporary and traditional art from Australian and international artists whose work is inspired by the natural environment.


The Arts on Weyba art exhibition will feature painting, sculpture, video, drawing, installation, ceramic and botanical art forms, from emerging and established artists.

Visual Art Workshops on Weyba

Saturday 1st December (Midday to 5.30pm)

Re-connect with nature; get your hands dirty in the name of art with our series of creative en plein air workshops!  Be inspired.  Be invigorated.  Get those artistic energies flowing with master artisans as guides, sharing inspiring insights into their practices and techniques.  Everyone is welcome to participate, from absolute beginners to art and craft pros.

Sunset Drinks and Canapés

Saturday 1st December (5.30 - 8pm) 

Relax and celebrate the beauty of the Weyba landscape with drinks, canapés and music overlooking the lapping waters of the lake at sunset. 

Workshops and a will be held throughout the afternoon followed by drinks, canapés and music overlooking the lake at sunset.

Workshops    Sat 1st December

“Stick It!” Sculpture Workshop   12 – 2.15pm

Learn how to transform bushland materials into interesting sculptures with exhibition artists Robyn Fox and Elizabeth Poole.
All materials and light refreshments provided, but you might want to bring a seat, hat and sunscreen. $10/child, $20/adult. 

Clay and Play   12 – 1pm

Join artist Helena Lloyd for a session of fun arts and crafts. Materials and refreshments provided. Kids aged 6 – 12. $7/child

Mark Making in the Natural Environment   2.30 - 4pm

Painting /Drawing en plein air on the shores of Lake Weyba with exhibition artist Helena Lloyd.
Charcoal, drawing-board, paper and light refreshments provided. Please feel welcome to bring any preferred art materials and a seat. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen. $7/child, $15/adult.

Botanical Drawing and Painting Demonstrations   All afternoon

Watch as Noosa Botanical Artists Mollie McCloskey and Helma Maiwald reveal their skills in capturing the native flora in all its wonderful detail. 

Kid’s Activity Table   1pm – 5.30pm

Arts and crafts for kids. Be creative and meet new friends for fun and games. 

Free guided Lake Weyba Bush Photography Walk    4.15 - 5.30pm

Practice your photography skills on this lakeside tour including beautiful natural scenery, native flora & fauna and interesting indigenous, natural and historical sites.
BYO camera. Sensible shoes, insect repellant and sunscreen recommended. Refreshments provided. 

Sunset Drinks and Canapés    5.30 – 8pm 

Wrap up an afternoon of celebrating art and the natural landscape with drinks, canapés and music overlooking the waters of Lake Weyba at sunset. Relax by the lapping waters of the lake with a glass of bubbles and some gourmet treats. $25/head. Free soft drink and snacks for kids.

All day sausage sizzle and cold drinks will be available.  'Kid's activity table' and 'Clay & Play' will be attended by a childcare professional but all children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at during other workshops.

'The Arts on Weyba' is a non-profit event to raise public awareness to a massive residential and commercial development proposed for Lake Weyba.  

Lake Weyba is an eco sanctuary, one of only a few left on this part of the coast and should be conserved from inappropriate development.  For more information please visit and sign our petition against corporate fuelled environmental devastation.

All procedes from 'The Arts on Weyba' will go to the Friends of Lake Weyba organisation and will be reinvested in future events that will also have community benefits in mind.
